Reflections Executive Team

Martin Pace is co-founder and Managing Director of Reflections Nurseries and has worked in the childcare sector since 1994. He is a consultant to the childcare, education and healthcare sectors and was co-founder and Managing Director of Dolphin Nurseries Ltd from 2000 to 2005, a group of 8 private day nurseries providing care and education for 1000 children and employing over 250 staff. Prior to that Martin was Director of Kids Unlimited a group of 32 private day nurseries caring for 3000 children. His first role in the childcare sector was with Jigsaw Day Nurseries Ltd, a group of 11 private day nurseries.

Martin has visited Reggio Emilia five times since 2004 on study tours and is currently studying for an MA in Early Childhood Studies at the Froebel Institute at Roehampton University. He is also the author of the book Starting a Nursery - A Practical Guide for Early Years Professionals, published by TSL Education Ltd, and various articles in Nursery World magazine from 1996 to 2004. He was also a regular conference speaker on the subject of operating day nurseries at Under-12s Conferences in 1998 to 2000. He attended Harvard Business School in November 2006.

Martin was a non-executive Director of Baby Lifeline, a national charity investigating solutions for premature birth in 1999/2000 and a Samaritans Volunteer in 2003/4. From 2005 to 2007 he was a non-executive Director of Fairley House, a charity operating two schools in London for dyslexic, dyspraxic & dyscalculic children.

Louise Rose has spent 13 years in childcare & education, gaining her NNEB in 1997 and managing a 96-place nursery in Bracknell, Berkshire.  She went on to manage a 115-place nursery in Banstead, Surrey and subsequently became Director of Childcare with a large London-based company operating over 20 nurseries, where her role was to oversee 7 nurseries. Louise visited Reggio Emilia in November 2008 on a study tour and is committed to delivering Reflections vision of quality childcare and education, inspired by the Reggio approach.

Ann Mackie is an early years professional with over 20 years experience in various early years settings (including Nursery Practitioner, Head of a Nursery Department in a preparatory school, Reception Teacher in the independent sector as well as an early years curriculum advisor for a day nursery company.) She is passionate about early years education and believes that best practice is the opportunity for children to learn through child-centred environments. She holds the N.N.E.B. Certificate, A.D.C.E, High Scope Teacher Induction, and the Montessori Teaching Diploma. In May 2005 she also attended  a study tour  in Reggio Emilia, Italy providing affirmation in her belief that children should be valued and respected as competent  learners from birth. Ann provides pedagogical guidance for Reflections nursery team.
